The Green Mountain Net

The Green Mountain Net has been on the air since 1953 and is one
of the longest running nets in Amateur Radio.

The Green Mountain Net, founded in 1953, is one of the longest running nets in amateur radio. It consists of a group of mostly congenial hams who meet on 3.933 MHz every day except Sunday. The net starts at 5 PM local East Coast time (earlier during the winter). The average number of check-ins is between 25 and 35 members. Although most of our members come from the New England states, any and all who can be heard are welcome, no matter where their QTH might be.

We are a rag chew net whose purpose is to foster good fellowship and camaraderie amongst Radio Amateurs. The Net Manager is W1LJN, Joe Nyberg. His address is 125 Savageville Rd., Lisbon, NH  03585. The net Secretary is K1KU, Darrel Daley and his address is POB 445 in Putney, VT, 05345-0445.

The brains behind all the goings on and very able newsletter publisher is KA1TWV, Elaine. Although there are no dues, donations are always welcome and appreciated. They can be mailed to the net Secretary (above).

The following net controls are currently assigned:

Mon - K1KU, Darrel    Putney, VT Tue - WB1CEI, Ed   Sharon, CT Wed - W1LJN, Joe   Lisbon, NH
Thu - W1HIO, Steve   Essex Junction, VT Fri - KA1SVF, Marge   Milford, NJ Sat - KA1TWV, Elaine   Wardsboro, VT

The net holds an annual gathering in Vermont, usually the first Saturday after Labor Day. Further information will become available in the
early summer of each year.

A net certificate is available after you have completed 10 check ins. Send the original or a copy of your log to the Net Manager, Joe W1LJN
along with $5. You will receive a beautiful certificate - definitely worthy of space on the shack wall.
